Growing up, one can remember spending birthdays at Spur and getting a birthday song; this team really made this birthday song epic.

Kuils River, South Africa (05 March 2024) – The waiters at the Zevenwacht Spur put on a great performance for someone’s birthday and it is going viral, even now, 10 weeks after it was originally shared.

Sherri Andreas captured the moment while at the restaurant chain and it has left many South Africans reminiscing on the days they got to experience their own birthdays at the franchise. We all have the ear-worm “I don’t know what I’ve been told, but superboy/girl is getting old – don’t you worry, don’t you fear – it only happens once a year! Yo, yo, yo… yeah, yeah, yeah”, living in our brains, just waiting to be reawakened – sorry!

There are actually a few variations of birthday songs from over the past few decades (share your favourite in the comment section).

This new variation is lively and brings all the joy. People have shared that this isn’t a rare performance either, the talented waiteress is known throughout the community for going the extra mile when celebrating a patron’s birthday.
