Johannesburg, South Africa (03 April 2023) – A South African musician is going viral after purchasing his first car and paying for everyone’s taxi fare on the way to get his new vehicle.. but this is not the first time that a story like this has trended!

For many South Africans, owning a car is a symbol of independence and financial stability. However, the reality is that buying a first car can be a significant challenge for many people. High costs, limited financing options, ongoing maintenance expenses, public transportation alternatives, safety concerns, and infrastructure limitations can make it difficult for a South African to enter the first-time buyers market for vehicles.

But despite these obstacles, owning a car can still be an important milestone for many people, providing them with greater mobility and opportunities. And it’s this milestone that has caused Musa Ngobeni to go viral.

Musa Ngobeni, known as “Mosaic Musiq”, is a self-taught DJ and producer born on the 18th of January 1988 in Tzaneen, Limpopo. The musician recently posted about his new purchase and has brought together hundreds and thousands of South Africans celebrating with him.

“Today I took a taxi from Mamelodi and I paid for everyone including the driver cause it was my last time riding in a taxi & got off at VW Hatfield to collect my car.”

But it seems this is not the first time that this has happened. In 2022, Kagisho also took a taxi to collect his car and paid everyone’s fare in celebration.

“I took a taxi from Bree to Campus Square and I paid for EVERYONE including the driver cause it was my last time riding in a taxi & got off at VW to collect my car.”

The tweet racked up thousands of shares and replies congratulating the South African on his new purchase – a real feel-good moment on the social media site.

The posts are both incredibly similar, and we’re not entirely sure if Kagisho’s act of kindness inspired Ngobeni or if this is just a new trend for first-time vehicle owners. Either way, we will join in their celebrations! Congrats to all first-time vehicle buyers.
