After a visit to the Christine Revell Children’s Home, Katherine Brink felt a strong personal need to step in and get involved… this is how Little Brinks was started!

Johannesburg, South Africa (07 August 2015) – Katherine Brink, an awesome South African, started an NGO called “Little Brinks” in 2008 when she saw the need for someone to step in and try and make the lives of children and families in disadvantaged communities within the Western Cape a little bit better.

“Our vision is to ensure that each and every child and baby, has a place of safety, food and clothing. We have seen far too many cases of abuse – some of which will continue to live with us forever. That said, we are now absolutely dedicated to making a difference in the lives of these little people – helping those who cannot be heard or speak for themselves.”

After seeing the number of children who go to bed hungry, because their parents are struggling financially and because of drug abuse-Katherine decided to do something about it.

After a visit to the Christine Revell Children’s Home, Katherine felt a strong personal need to step in and get involved.

It all started after she adopted a child, and from that day she has dedicated her life to helping struggling parents with food packages on a weekly basis so they can feed their little ones.

“Each and every child deserves to have a meal and deserves to be loved.”

They rely heavily on donations of clothing, food, nappies etc as well as time, not just money.

Katherine helps orphanages, after-care facilitates, individual families & even some animal shelters every month, with most of the donations coming from family and friends and sometimes at her own expense.

Katherine was the Lead SA hero for June this year and our South Afri-CAN inspiration for today!
