Education is an important part of growing up and these are the organisations making sure children get the education they deserve.

South Africa (30 January 2024) – Education is vital for the development of healthy children. Learning to read and write and having access to educational support, financial support and emotional support all play a vital role in just how well-adapted a child becomes.

On this list, which is a new one at Good Things Guy, you will find homework clubs, reading charities, schooling infrastructure organisations and more. This list is in no way comprehensive. As we work through the year of 2024, we will hopefully grow this list.

If we have missed an organisation or charity, please email tyler@goodthingsguy.com, and we will add it soonest; kindly supply the relevant links as well as which province they work in, the NPO/NGO/NPC registration details and a brief description of what the organisation does.

Please note that this is a working list, so keep sending through your charities, and we will keep adding them! If you are looking for child protection and welfare charities, you will find that list here.

Millions of South Africans go to bed either hungry or malnourished; these organisations are making sure families have at least one good meal to get by.

South Africa (28 January 2024) – Feeding schemes and organisations come and go in South Africa as funding is found or dried out. Sadly, over the years, our charity list related to a single meal or huge food parcels has dwindled, and this year, it is the smallest yet – BUT there are still organisations filling the hunger gap, making sure people have food to eat.

If we have missed an organisation or charity, please email tyler@goodthingsguy.com and we will add it soonest; kindly supply the relevant links as well as which province they work in, the NPO/NGO/NPC registration details and a brief description of what the organisation does.

Please note that this is a working list, so keep sending through your charities, and we will keep adding them!

Organisations are doing everything to raise awareness for diseases and disabilities in South Africa; these are the groups to support in 2024.

South Africa (24 January 2024) – Diseases, disabilities and illness affect so many South Africans. Most have a group of dedicated supporters who fight to raise awareness and support people with illness. There are also major organisations advocating to collect blood and sign up organ donors and stem-cell donors. All of these healthcare organisations are making an impact on the South African healthcare system.

We have listed all the incredible groups we have worked with over the years on this helpful charity list.

If we have missed an organisation or charity, please email tyler@goodthingsguy.com, and we will add it soonest; kindly supply the relevant links as well as which province they work in, the NPO/NGO/NPC registration details and a brief description of what the organisation does.

There are many destitute people who have fallen on hard times, whether losing their homes, needing a meal to get through the day or a helping hand to get back on their feet; these are the organisations supporting the destitute and homeless.

South Africa (17 January 2024) – Times are tough, people are struggling to make ends meet. In worst cases, people end up on the streets, left destitute and unsure how to get back to the life they once knew.

There are organisations in South Africa helping these men and women find the support they need. We have a list of several doing what they can to offer support. Some of the listings are for shelters, where people can access support and a warm bed, other listings help people replace ID documents, reconnect with family or find meaningful employment. Another type of listing below also includes organisations that are feeding these people.

If we have missed an organisation or charity, please email tyler@goodthingsguy.com and we will add it soonest; kindly supply the relevant links as well as which province they work in, the NPO/NGO/NPC registration details and a brief description of what the organisation does.

Giving people access to mental health support and counselling is vital for a healthy society; these are the organisations offering help.

South Africa (16 January 2024) – Good mental health underpins so many other parts of life, from healthy relationships to the ability to take part in society and how we treat our animals and environment. Without good mental health, the rest suffers.

In South Africa, access to services that promote mental health and support is far and few between. Helping the organisations that do operate in this space is vital as it gives incentive for more organisations to step up and help too.

Despite the need for more mental health-focused organisations in South Africa, focusing on

Enough is well and truly, enough now! South African organisations are taking a stand against gender-based violence and child abuse; this is how we support them.

South Africa (15 January 2024) – South Africans are tired of harrowing headlines detailing gender-based violence statistics or the latest heartbreaking act of abuse against a woman. This year, let’s all take a stand alongside the organisations fighting for change and help make a difference. These are all the causes to support in 2024.

The Good Things Guy team has been working on these charity lists since the start of the pandemic in 2020. They were created as tools to help people find help or offer it to causes close to their hearts. Over the years, the demand for these lists has grown and today, we are excited to share our lists for 2024.

This list features all the organisations protecting women and children, combatting gender-based violence and supporting victims of abuse and human trafficking.

The Good Things Guy animal welfare charity list has grown year-on-year, making it one of the most comprehensive lists in South Africa – these are all the organisations we love for 2024!

South Africa (14 January 2024) – Animal welfare organisations make the most difference in South Africa. There are thousands of people working to help millions of animals. Our comprehensive charity list grows and evolves every year as we add more good causes to the list.

The Good Things Guy team has been working on these charity lists since the start of the pandemic in 2020. They were created as tools to help people find help or offer it to causes close to their hearts. Over the years, the demand for these lists has grown and today, we are excited to share our lists for 2024.

Our charity list was usually one long one but we have found, with the help of insightful readers, that one list is too much to work through. This year we are splitting the list into various categories. This list features all the animal welfare organisations we have featured over the years and can vouch for.

We are doing things a little differently this year. We now have nine animal charity lists, one for each province and this one which features South Africa as a whole. Below are all the organisations that work country-wide to make a difference, and below that, you can select which province you need.

If we have missed an organisation or charity, please email tyler@goodthingsguy.com and we will add it soonest; kindly supply the relevant links as well as which province they work in, the NPO registration details and a brief description of what the organisation does.

Please note that this is a working list, so keep sending through your charities, and we will keep adding them!

These charities include all kinds of animal welfare organisations. We have simplified the search process for you by adding the following codes:

B – Birds, C – Cats, D – Dogs, F – Farm, H – Horses / Donkeys, W – Wildlife, and O – Other.
