A brave taxi driver was asked for help after he passed by a robbery scene. Instead of offering reassuring words, he did them one better and chased down the suspects!

Strand, South Africa (25 April, 2023) —Who needs The Flash when you have a brave taxi driver that’s just as fast?

A recent robbery in Strand reportedly saw people robbed of their phones and wallets while heading home after a long day’s work. Two off-duty security guards along with other passengers were understandably shaken when things took a turn for the better.

Those who had managed to escape the ordeal saw a taxi driver approaching, whom they decided to ask for help.

Instead of simply offering reassuring words or a ride, the taxi driver understood the assignment and accelerated into action.

According to SAPS’ Lieutenant Colonel Malcolm Pojie, the taxi driver chased down two of the suspects, and handed them over to the local police to face the music.

Although he was only able to nab two of the three suspects believed to be involved, the third suspect came forward to the police.

All the suspects appeared in court on Friday, largely thanks to the brave taxi driver who is now being hailed a hero in Strand.

Meanwhile, another heroic taxi driver was revealed recently, but not for fighting crime. A backseat passenger’s story of ‘the best taxi driver’ went viral recently for all the right reasons, after she witnessed him going out of his way to help a disabled passenger in need of assistance!
