AI was used to turn Cape Town areas into action figures, and soon The ‘Aweh Force’ was born. From the ultimate Constantia mom to the special edition collectable, Fourways on Holiday’, this is one for the giggles:

Cape Town, South Africa (19 December 2023) — We’ve seen Artificial Intelligence do some pretty curious things this year, especially when it comes to the many visuals AI’s cooked up. From the ‘Queen of South Africa’ to our own dream house fit for a franchise fantasy, it’s safe to say that AI has given us some food for thought. While not all AI creations are, well, accurate, many have at least given us a good giggle. The latest viral sensation? Cape Town’s ‘Aweh Force’.

Prompted by Charlie Human who is based in Cape Town, AI created a fictional shoot of what people from different parts of the Cape from Muizenberg to Sea Point would look like in action figure form—the AI gift of the giggles we didn’t know we needed.

We’ve got our knight in designer sunglasses (AKA, the final boss of Constantia moms), the Wizard of Obs, and a character straight out of GTA Athlone. Oh, and the Cape Town Expansion Pack addition, the King of Stellenbosch. Not to mention the special edition collectable: Fourways on Holiday.

As far as stereotypes and exaggeration go, many locals laughed in viral agreement that the AI managed to get a lot of key Cape Town elements down pretty accurately. Of course, not everyone from these areas may fit the description, but that’s because there is no one-size-fits-all description when it comes to the melting pot that is the Mother City.
